Ned is a senior musical theatre major at Ithaca College, originally from Portland Maine. Raised as an athlete, Ned spent most of his young life playing soccer, lacrosse, and tennis; though he dabbled in baseball, sailing, swimming, and running as well. Right through his senior year in high school at Waynflete School, Ned played soccer and lacrosse at the varsity level, earning nominations to multiple regional and state honors teams. Somewhere during his sophomore year, however, Ned made the decision to pursue acting as a career.
His acting debut came in the sixth grade, when he was a Newsboy in Lyric Music Theater's production of Gypsy. (It's important at this point to note, that his mother claims it was my appearance as the Baby Jesus in a christmas pageant at age 5 months. The jury is still out on that verdict.) From there, theatre became a constant in Ned's life, performing in at least two productions every year right up through graduation. He also studied for 3 years under Mark Bedell at the Maine Academy of Staged Combat, learning skills which he would eventually put towards his fight direction career.
Ned was heavily involved in the musical groups at Waynflete, singing with the chorus all four years and earning spots on the All-State chorus every year in high school, and a spot in the All-Eastern chorus in 2007. He also ran two a'cappella groups, the mixed group and the group he co-founded Three Rights Make a Left. Theatrically Ned performed in Anything Goes, The Philadelphia Story, The Curious Savage, An Inspector Answers, Once on this Island while at Waynflete. In the local community Ned was in The Sound of Music (Lyric Music Theater), Cinderella (Portland Players), All Shook Up (Hackmatack Playhouse, New England Regional Premiere), as well as being a featured performer in Broadway at Good Theater (Good Theater) and The Wonderful World of Broadway Dinner Theater (Anthony's Italian Kitchen) for 2 years. In 2008, Ned was accepted to Ithaca College's musical theatre program, and he began solely focusing on acting.

Ithaca Shakespeare Company - Macbeth
Ned's theatrical debut at Ithaca College came in the production of Evil Dead: The Musical for which he was also the fight choreographer. After that he appeared on the Main Stage in A New Brain, Children of Eden, Much Ado About Nothing, How I Learned to Drive, and Plumfield, Iraq. He has also been active in the student production world, performing in Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog and Evil Dead: The Musical, as well as directing The Spirit of Reindeer, a new christmas musical by Brian Cimmet and Erich Goldstein. As a fight choreographer, Ned has worked on the IC Main Stage for Much Ado About Nothing, Generation Graffiti, and Plumfield, Iraq. As an actor professionally, Ned has worked for companies such as the Maine State Music Theater (A Year with Frog and Toad), and the Ithaca Shakespeare Company (Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, As You Like It). As a fight choreographer professionally, Ned has worked for Fenix Theatre Company, Ithaca Shakespeare Company, and Encore at Point Sebago. Recently, Ned has become active in the student film world, working on multiple Ithaca College thesis films as an actor and fight director.
As an actor, Ned appreciates the importance of the ensemble. His entire process is based around a collaborative exploration with the other members of the cast/production team in order to create a piece which a whole range of audience members will love. His training spans two continents, spending the spring semester of 2011 studying theatre in London. While there he had the privilege of seeing 25 shows from the fringe, to the west end, to the royal shakespeare company, and everything in between. The experiences Ned has had the fortune of being a part of have left him with an appreciation for all aspects of theatre/film, a love for shows spanning all forms of theatre, and a desire to work in whatever direction the world pulls him.
When not in the theatre, you're likely to find Ned at home playing video games or watching sports (he remains an active follower, and rabid fan of all New England sports teams, sorry if that offends any of you readers), or out and about trying to meet people and learn all he can about them. At the end of the day, the entertainment industry is about connecting with people and their emotions, and what could be a more important profession than that?
